The Swiss authorities are to extend information exchange agreements with number of additional countries, including Russia and Liechtenstein, so long as the exchanging jurisdictions can demonstrate that the data will be protected.  This could reveal substantial undeclared assets Swiss citizens have squirreled away in neighbouring countries like Liechtenstein.

When you consider how recently it was that Switzerland was fiercely guarding banking secrecy (including the 2013 agreements with UK and Austria that preserved anonymity in exchange for withholding taxes) it is remarkable and laudable that automatic exchange of information agreements are now so actively pursued.
